Deus Ex: Revision

Deus Ex: Revision

TNM 2.0 - Steam Workshop Download

Ok, I have some questions
I was just looking around and stumbled into what appears to be The Nameless Mod on Steam, as a mod for Revision, which is in itself a mod for Deus Ex? And apparently it's a new version (2.0) with a bunch of new stuff added?

First question: Why is TNM on Steam a mod for Revision and not a mod for Deus Ex directly? Is it because by being a mod for Revision it'll take advantage of some native improvements introduced by Revision?

Second question: This new 2.0 version of TNM, is it the work of the original TNM devs or someone else?

TNM 2.0 is a remake of TNM 1.0, both with ZeroPresence as the main mapper. The main goal of 2.0 is remaking the levels from 1.0.

I help with code on both TNM 2.0 and Revision. I put it on the Revision workshop because I could and because it makes it easier for people to play and for me to update, Steam downloads are quick and automatic.

TNM 2.0 isn't a mod for Revision, it's just on its workshop. TNM 2.0 can be downloaded on Moddb but that version is secondary priority for us compared to this one. By having it on Steam people can just subscribe to it and always have the latest version, without having to check Moddb and download the whole mod again.

Ah ok, I'm all for convenience so this is great news. Just how much does TNM 2.0 changes compared to the original?

original dev is myself, with the support of hawk from revision. TNM is essentially a mod for the vanilla version of DX on Steam much like Revision is. It is kind of confusing, but the workshop for Revision is actually for your DX:GOTY version you have here.

TNM 2.0 adds new mechanics, story elements, and maps to the original campaign, both PDX and WC. There is also an absolute metric ton of bug fixes as well as quality of life improvements implemented by Hawk.

Originally, this whole 2.0 idea was going to be just myself modifying the maps I worked on and released back in 2009, but the support of the mod grew, and people have come and gone to help make it much more than that.

That's great news, I already played TNM three times and it's one of the best mods for Deus Ex imo. You're tempting me to play a 4th time...:lunar2019coolpig:
