How to edit MOTD
I know everyone is trying to edit the motd, I once was too but I found out how to edit it. All you have to do is go to your dedicated server folder and garrysmod and go to lua. Once you are in the lua folder of your dedicated server you make a new folder called "plugins". Now go into your plugins folder and make a txt file and name it "assmod_motd" and save it.

Now all you have to do is open your ♥♥♥ motd file and copy and paste the code from the url inside. This is where you can now edit your MOTD from. When you are done click save as and make sure the file type is all and change the file extension to "lua". Now when you join your server the new MOTD should show up. Hope I helped you :boomer:

but how can i change in my gmod client? i don't want a dedicated server i want a server made inside the game

Exactly what the guy above me said. I don't want a dedicated server but I do want to change the MOTD. How do I do that?

Sorry for the late response. Doing the same steps in the lua folder in your gmod directory should work. ex. C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\garrysmod etc

I know this is a bit late, but if you change the hearts in the link to :csgoa:ss, it will work

By the way the link isnt dead, steam has censored the word a$$ so when you get the link the word as-s is censored.
So just replace the hearts in the url with the actual word.
