New features and content
Hello!

It would be great for balance if certain items left outside would deteriorate over time. Maybe with an adjustable rate per resource.

You would want to add an option to transfer the resource to an indoor storage building (Maybe a button on the resource that temporarily sets the storage amount to 0 so that villagers try to unload it).

Straw would rot, logs would be eaten by ants and termites, Iron might rust, etc.
Some resources would be unaffected, stone can sit out forever, etc.

I'm really sorry but it can't be done. Not with the way game was originally programmed.

Make a ghost citizen who takes one of the stack every few days. Then have him put it somewhere the player can't get to?

The only thing that can be done is to make resources disappear in time but this will only create more tasks to be handled by the game and many people are complaining about FPS and freezing - making such a feature will only add more chance of instability...

You can't program one building as "indoor storage" and another as "outdoor" storage. For game all storage buildings are the same buildings. Game won't see the difference.
