Compatibility discussion
If you want me to make compatibility patch for a fixed mod, feel free to post it here. In most cases, Starnet should work fine even without the patch, so feel free to try it without the patch.

If you experience gamebreaking issues when using Starnet together with something feel free to report in this thread (or vice versa, if you tried a mod combination and it worked great).



NSC (high priority, currently don't work together at all according to reports).
Extra Ship Components (doesn't work, AI doesn't use strategic resources properly works fine since ESC changed their ai code There is a patch)
Guilli's Planet modifiers (compatibility good)
Guilli's Ship Components (compatibility: Unknown, probably good)
Zenith of Fallen Empires (compatibility: Unknown, probably ok, reported by players as being fine)
Planetary Diversity (compatibility ok)
Gigastructural engineering (compatibility Unknown, AI should kill you before you get to gigastructures. Reported as being fine. AI won't build gigastructures too smartly but they will build some.)
ACOT -- in progress. Right now AI doesn't use any t6 technologies and further (compatibility terrible), on a positive note vanilla won't use them either.

Typically the worst compatibility behavior happens if a mod adds new important resources or changes vanilla buildings.

I don't know when I get to the stage of making compatibility patches, typically issues with the mod itself will take priority then I will focus on popular mods which are completely incompatible together with starnet.

Will it work with "36 building slots" mod ? It does not change vanilla buildings it only lets you build more of them on planet ( unlocked by population like in vanilla)

Aggressive Crisis Engine (ACEMOD) will work fine with Starnet as long as ACEMOD is below Starnet in load order.

Starnet overwrites crisis countries but makes no changes to them. This overwrite has to be overwritten by ACEMOD. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2268189539

Any chance for some improvements to unity generation? If using mods which add more traditions and ascension perks, unity production becomes a lot more important as they provide a lot of good economic and growth bonuses. Currently from what I have seen in the files, AI never builds unity buildings, this is even more jarring on spiritualists which don't use their temples at all.

@OldEnt: Be aware that Starnet for NSC will per default overwrite ACEMOD, no matter the load order due to file naming and LIOS behaviour. A Patch with Irony mod manager or similar is then required I suspect.

@All: I have planetary diversity installed with the Patch mod and some manual merging of ai weights. It seems to work fine so far, but I suspect PD-Unique Worlds would just not run due to the custom resources and the rather powerful nature of the planets (Archive world, floating world, etc). I don't really have the time to test AI behaviour with that mod myself, but maybe there's someone who already tested it and can say more about how it works or breaks?

Renamed zz_acemod_country_types.txt to zzzzzzzzzzzzzz_acemod_country_types.txt and updated the mod.

Are you able to create a sub mod for gigastructural engineering? Throughout multiple games, I never see the AI ever build most of the modded gigastructures on their own until I was already building planetcraft while one of them has just completed their science nexus.

@OldEnt I know you are a modder. I've noticed the dev has not been active. And the last update was several months ago. In adition this overrides a lot of vanilla stuff uneccisaraly. for example it messes with purge speed for no reason. And it is broken with ethics and civics classic(Or the variation i use anyway.) Could you continue the mod or find someone who will? thanks.

how is planetary diversity compatibility now? the universal districts patch says it's outdated and shouldnt be used anymore

I have seen salvor on Discord just a month ago, I would not classify neither him nor the mod as dead.

Ethics and Civics change stuff Starnet does, if you want both to play nicely you need a compatibility patch (I do not use so Ethics and Civics I cannot know if there is one).

There is a patch. But the patch is very broken and changes a tone of stuff that doesnt need to be changed. And breaks alot of things.

I might make my own starnet patch that re overrides a lot of unessiary changes back to their vanilla values.
