Fixes to misplaced cities. How to DIY fix the map.
Hi all,
As a huge fan of this mod, I have commented on the below problems but never had a response from the moderator, so i took things into my own hands.

I have fixed the problems with the following settlements, but i'm not a Moderator, so i can only talk you through how to fix them yourself.

- Location of Salisbury(formerly in Medditeranean sea)-Moved to England

- Location of Chateau Galliard (formerly in Medditeranean sea)-Moved to English occupied France

-Location of Algiers (formerly on island of Mallorca beside Palma) Moved to North Africa.

-Location of Valencia (formerly on island of Mallorca beside Palma) Moved to Spanish mainland East coast.

-Location of Timbukana (formerly on island of Mallorca beside Palma) Moved to Africa as close to where Mali should be as i could, there was already a village close by so just put it near there- seems pointless having settlements down there to me, but guess the devs were developing that area..

-Location/Name change of Klausenstein (formerly on island of Mallorca beside Palma) Moved to Southern Spain. Name changed to Granada to replace removed city of Granda from previous versions.

-Location of Andusa (formerly against some hills in Southern France/Toulouse) Moved very slightly away from hills to prevent Lord/owner constantly getting stuck between hills and castle.


All locations are as close to where you would find them on google maps/historcial maps as i could manage on the campaign map but away from any hindering terrain.

PLEASE NOTE THIS FIX REQUIRES YOU TO START A NEW GAME TO TAKE EFFECT.


To put these changes into affect you will need to edit the document parties.txt for the Europe1200 mod.

Here is the directory path for finding it on your computer.
Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > workshop > content > 48700 > 1666414309 > parties.txt

Once you've found parties.txt Lets get started:

PLEASE MAKE A COPY OF parties.txt BEFORE EDITING- I bare no responsibility for user error if you make any mistakes.

HOW TO;

In parties.txt
Change the following values by holding control and pressing F to find each city.
Take your time and be very careful not to make any mistakes.

When finished, save the file and exit. Open up the game, start a new game, and check the cities are roughly where they should be.

I wish i could fix the problems with the river crossings, sea height irregularities that get armies stuck and the broken bit of terrain between Tortosa and Alcaniz.. but i have no idea how to do it.

Hope this helps someone. Or Klaus could you just implement these changes to next update?

going to give this a try soon, this is currently my only gripe with the mod really and hopefully this works for me as well!

This mod taught me that Salisbury was an Oil Rig during the 13th century.
