Hunters lacks ranged weapon when they do have a weapon
My colonists can't hunt because the game says they don't have a ranged weapon when they are equipped with rifles. Does anyone know a fix?

Does the gun have ammo? And make sure its not EMP rounds. The game will count a gun with EMP rounds as a non ranged weapon for hunting as you cant kill animals with it

It was a brand new crash landed game with the rifle and revolver the game gives you. But this was on 1.2 so im assuming its because it hasnt updated the mod to 1.2 yet

This happens on previous versions too. You start with no ammo. I just uninstalled the mod as you really can't do anything without ammo.

Basic ammo (for most guns, Full Metal Jacket) is relatively easy to make, though. Just need a loading bench (you should start with the tech for it, unless you're tribal) and a tiny bit of steel, and a single production batch of an ammo type will craft enough ammo to hunt for the first year and possibly beyond. There aren't even crafting skill requirements.

And don't forget to actually set up a loadout that makes the pawns pick up ammo into their inventory.
