Grenades are insanely overpowered.
As the title says: every grenade type needs a massive nerf. they are currently working at about 200% of their real life effectiveness. grenades blow after 4 to 5 seconds, not 2 like in the game currently. shrapnel in the game creates a circle of death that is unavoidable if you didnt move your colonists in time (due to the short fuze) the shrapnel flies through everything. IRL a grenade shrapnel is small and can be severely slowed/stopped by a variety of things, like trees and bushes. Grenades cannot destroy walls in any reasonable timeframe, unless my wooden walls are thin plywood walls. also whats up with raiders throwing 3-4 grenades in the space of a couple seconds? this just adds to the problem. Honestly grenades are way way too strong right now. they have their role to play in the battlefield, but that role should not be an instant i win button

Then don't let greande users come upclose. For me they are underpowered for being too unreliable.

Yeah im going to agree with vasiliy, irl grenades are so vastly diffrent, concussion grenades would function similiarly to how you're describing, being situational and only good in enclosed spaces, but shrapnel grenades are pretty dangerous, trees should stop the shrapnel for sure and bushes should have a chance to but currently in the game ive had a colonist be within a tile of a grenade and survive, ill be it incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up but alive, and they really are only useful compared to just shooting if you can get it into a large group, and if you want to get close its incredibly dangerous and risky.

I would like to see grenades reworked into being more specialized and complex, with impact grenades, short fuse long, fuse improvised, concussion and more shrapnel heavy ones, but as it stands i think they're pretty well balanced.
