Make sure you are not in the "Free Cursor" panel but in the main panel where it says "Hover mouse over an intersection"
The second problem could be that in the settings the option "Do not remove or connect roads" is ticked, but I don't think that is your case

"Free cursor..." is just a button, not the menu itself, so it's ok. You are in the main panel if there is no "back" button.

I think maybe I don't understand how to work it. If I use the elliptical option, the roads connect automatically, but I can't figure out the regular mode? I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

When you are in the main menu, don't go anywhere and hover your mouse over an intersection. Don't click 'Free cursor', 'Elliptic roundabout' or anything.

OMG! I was doing all in free cursor and having to manually reconnect everything. That's so cool :)

I have the same problem but I'm pretty sure that I'm not in "Free Cursor" mode. In fact, up to this last update, that there was still the eliptical mode, it was the only way that my roundabouts would connect to the preexisted roads. Because of that, I have always set both radious iqually to have a circle. Now that this option is not available anymore, I can't build them successfully. Both options work like "free cursor" mode not connecting the roads, overlaping them.
Any idea of what is going on?

Hi, that's unfortunate! At the very least you can enable the elliptic roundabouts again by going to main menu -> options -> Roundabout builder. Also check that the option "Do not remove any roads" is not checked, as that might be the cause

Do have the same problem. No existing roads are connecting. Even when not in Free cursor mode...
