SHINIGAMI - Katana Model
Jack 8 Jan, 2019 @ 4:27am
The blade is extremely wide and big(Fixed)
Its a really nice katana model and skin but i think that the blade looks more like a weapon for smashing something rather than a cutting tool. It needs to look alot sharper, if possible

It's almost the exact size and height of the Nikana blade, just with a different curvature overall. The guard takes a bit more space though so I can see why you can feel that it's bigger than that but I can assure you it's not.

The edge may not be bigger than the Nikana, but that wasnt what i was complaining about.
It is the edge overall on all Nikanas. But i thought that you are able to modify the polygons and the mesh for weapon skins so it would look more thin and realistic. But sorry if i complained about something that you have no control of. Anyway thanks for your answer and have a nice day.:steamhappy:

oh and btw, there seems to be something like a crack in the middle of the blade 3d model.

To be fair, you're not wrong though. The shape of the blades of actual Katanas are like this:

...while this version looks more like this:

not very sharp tbh, but the aesthetics are definitely awesome and I don't think that ingame it would make any big difference since we almost never see the weapons in detail except in the arsenal or in captura. :SBchicken:

Ehh in reality katanas are pretty damn wide. It just doesnt look that way because of the curve and yet they are usually a bit thinner than european swords but this looks more than realistic.

Personally, I actually like the larger, thicker blade. Makes it feel different from other nikana, and katanas in general.

People seem to see some weird stuff in this tennogen forums...

what about a bankai mode.(jk)

Very nice overall, but the blade's too thick, which makes the edge look BLUNT; a bladed weapons blade needs to be THIN because the blade's edge's what does ALL the damage, and it's been proven over and over again that thin blades can hold MUCH SHARPER edges than thick ones. For now I'm gonna vote "Ask me again later", but make the blade thin enough for the edge to actually look SHARP, and I'll change my vote to "Yes, Definitely".
Jack 18 Jan, 2019 @ 11:58am
Now it looks badass. I NEED IT.
Bloðbrand 18 Jan, 2019 @ 5:32pm
I don't know; the blade still looks pretty well on the THICK side, so the edge STILL looks pretty BLUNT. For that reason, my vote's not changing YET; but fix that little peeve, and I'll vote in its favor for SURE. Sorry if this's a problem for you, I just like my weapons in ANY fiction media to look realistically VIABLE, and in the case of bladed weapons, that means THIN blades, so they look like they actually have SHARP edges.
