Dalek mod
So, as we all know, the Daleks are the main Doctor Who enemies. However, we don't have a proper mod for them! I'm not suggesting that someone should make a new one, because there already is one that is fairly good, which is the Dalek Mod with 17000 subs (should be easy to find, has a pirate symbol in the workshop). Unfortunately, it has one major bug: it refuses to move.

The uploader of the addon isn't a good coder, he just uploaded it, so he has no idea how to fix it. So I'm wondering if anyone here is familiar with NPC coding and can take a look? I tried looking myself but I can't find the problem. It would be great if someone fixed it!

Yeah, I would like to see a new Dalek mod too. The one that exists doesn't move like you said, it doesn't even visually fire anything (it just kills you when close enough), and for whatever reason the mod alone causes errors. As far as I know, Dr. Matt is too busy himself to be able to remake this unfortunately.

Does it have any animations? From what I remember of this addon, the Dalek just changes direction, but the eye stalk and arms don't actually move, he's just one solid model. Also, he just instantly kills up-close, no lasers involved. There's a lot to fix here, including health (since there is no way to beat this Dalek), it might be easier to start with making a Dalek SWEP for players to use and be Daleks, but I'm no coder, I'm just guessing here.

Well, the model actually CAN move but the Dalek ingame doesn't. If you kill him (you can!), a normal model is placed, which is fully moveable etc...

And yes, it doesn't fire something visually. But just making it move would already be a great start.

Also, I'm not asking Dr. Matt to do this. I know he's busy with other stuffs. But I figured this is probably where all the Garry's Mod playing Whoovians mass together, and it would have the highest chance of finding someone that can do this :P

Yeah, I would rather have it move than see lasers, but like I said, it might just be better to have it as a SWEP first and work your way up to an NPC

Well, there is the Dalek Travel Machine addon, which basically is a controllable Dalek. If we could attach AI to that...

Well, honestly they already have some good Dalek mods. But i want to see some classic Daleks, like the old Emporer from Evil of the Daleks, some Daleks from the comics, Daleks from Dr.Who and the Daleks.

I really just want to see some good models, then like you said Bacon take it up to SWep, then NPC.

The Dalek mods that we have are either static Dalek models mounted on a manhack that's slightly below the ground or ones that can't move. So they're not very good.

I may take on this challenge to do it myself (even though I've never modded gMod). I do have some coding experience, but it'll still be tough to do.

Well, yes some of the mods are "bad". But atleast give some credit, they tried hard on makeing it, they may not be the best at makeing a Dalek NPC but atleast they got good models?

The Daleks that are just manhacks useing the model manipulator, okay no credit to them. They didnt even try.

Someone said he was working on animations for a Cyberman playermodel, then a SWEP and NPCs. The playermodel is already out, but it still doesn't move...
