time rotor handbrake
the time rotor handbrake should also stop the tardis from taking off or using flightmode and when you try to take off it makes the rumbling thats right before the groaning and wheezing and then it makes the thump that it makes when it lands

As I recall, there was a 'takeoff failed' noise... That could be used. :P

how
techno156 8 Jun, 2014 @ 4:19pm
Well, when you try to take off. :P (With the handbrake on) Though the doctor apparently never has trouble with that... :P

Thats just the TARDIS's normal noise, because its not meant to make that noise the Doctor just leaves the brakes on

I don't think the normal noise is meant to mean nothing happens at all (The black spot) :P.

Curiously, what IS a normal TARDIS Noise?

There is a small ding when it lands if flown properly and thats it

That one scene though... In the classic series, that's how other TARDISs sounded, so saying they all made that mistake is... well...

Well... 10th did say that the reason that the TARDIS would 'rattle around all over the place' was because there was only one pilot... So... Maybe not...

Time of the Angels where river flys the TARDIS, remember guys? The TARDIS didnt make the noise

I don't remember the TARDIS making that noise when the doctor's companions flew it, though that could just be my bad memory. :p

Meh, there can be a lot of holes, you can't really blame the writers too much, try keeping track of everything when trying to make a story by a deadline. Still, it'd be nice to be able to halt a teleportation, in case you screw up.

Agreed.

Maybe the tardis has multiple brakes
techno156 10 Jun, 2014 @ 4:59pm
Maybe it does... Considering the physical lock is described as one of them...
