Isolating lighting inside the TARDIS from world lighting

Would it be possible to make it so that the lighting inside the TARDIS is not affected by world lighting? (Day/Night cycle, if applicable)

I've been experimenting with this and so far I cannot, but it is something I do want to achieve.

Just curious, wouldn't it be possible to make the exterior of the interior opaque and fix it that way?
