Crimson Court Trinket Tweaks

List of potential changes
-VISCOUNT'S SPICES: Remove +100% healing when eating; increase DMG reflection from 30% to 40%.
-MANTRA OF FASTING: Add +100% healing when eating (it is NOT required to be Wasting).
"+100% Healing when eating" should not be underestimated. It makes healing the entire team with only food much more viable through opportune trinket swapping. Because of this, I am considering moving this buff to the Mantra of Fasting so that feeding Blood to a wasting hero does not make the trinket completely useless, but instead it becomes an advantage for the whole team.

-PAGAN TALISMAN: Add a minor debuff, like +10% Stress DMG if Blood in inventory.
About the Pagan Talisman, I'm not that sure whether it deserves a nerf or not. So I'd like to ask you if you'd take +10% crit at the cost of +10% stress, knowing that the increased crit ratio would mitigate the stress build-up.

-TRINKET RARITY: demote something to Uncommon; demote something else to Rare.
Diversification in trinket rarity might have some positive outcomes: the bosses' trinket pool would include less vampire-only trinkets; also for example the Rat Carcass could become available from apprentice and veteran quests and cheaper in the nomad wagon, should it be needed it the early game.

Thinking about it, demoting and promoting rarities for these accessories will do the following:
1) lower the impact of how the "Crimson Curse Only Accessories" feels when you get them to give them to your crimson cursed party members
or
2) make them feel like "another thing I have to deal with the game" kind of feeling.

I feel like number 2 makes more sense. :steamsalty:
Crimson curse is just something I always deal with unless I just beat a Courtyard boss -> then I'm free from it for a while.
Sigh... I kinda wish I turned off this whole DLC when I started. @_@;

The actual changes: I'm glad you took the "chance to die when wasting" and removed it. I literally never used the Mantra of Fasting because I don't want my character to just die. That's a plus for me.

Buuuuut giving a "Mantra of FASTING" -> eating food benefits... it kinda feels wrong. I know that the fasting is from the blood - not actually fasting from normal food, but that's just it, it feels kinda off.

Viscount Spices -> if you take away the "Eating food benefits" from this while retaining the "eat double food" is again -> weird. I makes sense as you need to balance the effect out, but is there another way we can look/do this?

Pagan Talisman -> Adding that stress increase doesn't need the qualifier for the blood in inventory. Blood or not, equipping this increases stress by 10%.

About the "another thing I have to deal with": the demoted trinkets will still have the limit of only 1 in inventory, thus once you collect them , very rare or not, you are done with them.

I know that the mantra's food bonus would feel off, but I am trying to make it useful for both vampires and non vampires while keeping the same theme. Also no, the +100% food consumed and +100% healing from food do not balance out because the latter has the same effect as doubling the amount of food, while the former only forces you to use 25% more on food check and camps. The only way is limiting it to vampires, like it was with the original trinket.

Yes the stress increase needs the qualifier for the blood because if you are not fighting the Fanatic and you run out of blood you are stuck with a trinket which does nothing but increase stress damage. Sure you can put it in the inventory, but it's wasting a slot.

Thank you for the feedback, it's much appreciated.

You're welcome.

I'd like to make the point: Crimson Curse accessories -> players would want to equip them on characters with the crimson curse. On that front, trying to make it useful to characters without the crimson curse is kinda... I dunno. :X

Furthermore, I agree that the Pagan Talisman without the blood in your inventory would become a stress booster on your character or just a wasted inventory slot, but that's the point.
1) It's a reward with a risk. A risk that you can combat by just bringing extra blood, but a risk nonetheless.
2) you can just equip some common trinket you picked up earlier in the dungeon. That way, the trinket "wasted space" is less wasted. I tend to grab eeeeeeeeeverything and then start tossing things out as needed. I do have a mod for more inventory space, but not infinite space. I honestly start tossing out useless accessories first.

Fair points. I'll keep them in consideration.

I feel like the Rat's Carcass should be buffed, because even with it there's not high enough benefits to even let your characters go to wasting.

It's fairly easy to acquire lots of blood, especially with the town building that makes it, so characters barely ever go to wasting in the first place. The Rat's Carcass, for a buffed CC trinket, is extremely weak and Niche, +3-4 SPD (after wasting debuffs) is not enough incentive to deal with the harsh random actions and weaknesses of wasting.

Yeah I've heard the same argument in a previous discussion. At the moment I have decided to prioritize balancing the "numbers", so I still haven't come up with great ideas that could make both the Rat Carcass and the Mantra of Fasting more useful. Now they are merely tools dedicated to dealing with the lack of blood.

If you have any ideas feel free to post them. Thanks for the feedback.

Rats Corpse

-10% Stress when Wasting
+20% Damage when Wasting
+4 SPD when Wasintg
+15% Max Health when Wasting
+5% Death Blow Resist when Wasting
Prevents Death by lack of Blood
