why do normal path bosses have the damage scaling?
damage reduction is awful, i would like to be able to avoid it when playing non-glacier runs. would that be possible? or, even, maybe just a mod option to disable damage scaling altogether?

I'm actually concerned about this too. Damage scaling is extremely annoying, it ruins the purpose of having powerful items at all.

I think it does hurt this mod, idea was sound to keep players from one shooting some bosses but it's like it went too far. Two runs, in each got knife. While knife isn't most entertaining item to use, it still should be powerful "enough" even against bosses, but each boss fight has turned into chore, Flurry, Freezer Burn, dying once to Narc2 (close fight, but he was better :) ) and leaving game due to Sandy somewhat refusing to die probably due to getting concussive tears (no idea what went wrong, but happens).

Run after that, I've got couple items increasing ROF + knockback and poison. I don't remember even taking damage.

I adore this mod, while there are still some rough edges, it's the best Rebirth+ can offer and it clearly keeps getting better almost making me with it was part of Repentance update. But damage scalling as it is, turns some boss fight from difficult yet enjoyable to...

It's not dealbreaker, but there is space to improve it if devs want to keep using it. Otherwise you would be simply avoiding getting some items just because of that.

revelations does not change the damage you deal to bosses. the HP of the boss is what scales.

technically speaking it is damage reduction, since the proportional damage dealt per tear relative to the bosses' health is lowered.

just please make a mod to remove it from the bosses in rev, call me a noob or whatever but I want to fight them without getting completely obliterated

i dont like the scaling either but its a necessary evil, it will remain in the mod unless breaking runs become rare. we are willing to listen to fair criticisms on how to improve the system though.

thing is, it's been a better option to just avoid glacier and tomb than to actually play them in this current state, and I really like the mod, I really want to play it, but that just takes out the fun

and both floors are way too early in the game to allow any run breaking. the run can only begin to break after depths I or II, rarely in caves

i think you're overreacting. the scaling doesnt take hold as much as you seem to imply. if you've formed this mindset from playing an older version of the mod, we have been changing a lot of aspects about the scaling to make it more fair. you should give the mod another try

we never intended for the bosses to take very long to fight, so if you are experiencing something like this, you need to tell us because that is not intended and likely a bug of the system. imo, glacier bosses should take around a minute or a little less to defeat.

shops are a primary source of the breaking and they are in our floors. plus items can be found to assist in the process.

well, if that is the problem, bosses like flurry or frost rider take around 3-4, when I am able to kill them. It is taking way too much time and too much health during runs to fight these bosses
I actually started playing the mod after tomb released, and have experienced this issue in a much larger scale after the sin update

Do you have some formula how it is set up or where is the HP cap for new build? Don't mind idea, just for some items it feels way too harsh.

do you remember what items you had in the situations where the bosses took 3-4 minutes?

and thanks for being civil about this. we want the mod to be fun and enjoyable, clearing bosses in 2 seconds isnt fun to us, but neither is needing to take 4 or 10 minutes to clear them either and we never intended for our bosses to take that long to defeat
