I dont know what slot this would be in I think it would make a great action slot

i think it should change depending on the class, as a secondary in heavy or soldier would be ok, but the medic or the spy would be very bad

also in engi would be very op, using the widowmaker and the backup backpack would make the widowmaker an unlimited ammo shotgun so maybe in first slot would be better to avoid the problem, or nerfing the widowmaker to be unable to get ammo from the backpack

I kinda think that it could work as a portable dispenser, resupplying ammo and metel in a radius, but it would be slower than a level 1 and possibly for only the engie if it did something like that.

perhaps not an action slot, because it'd be a straight upgrade for the wearer and it'd make the game a little more unfair

maybe it should be the second slot for engie but if they wanna put different slots for different classes thats more work
No, not action slot. Action slot is for cosmetic items like noise makers, or certain special gameplay mechanics given to everyone like the spell book/magazine. Something like this needs to take an active item slot, my personal choice is the secondary. Assuming its for only the Soldier, Heavy, Engie and maybe Pyro (the classes getting class icon emblazoned packs) it sacrifices their backups to get more use out of primaries. It balances out quite nicely, assuming it just works like a mini personal ammo dispenser.

should be main gun for engie and medic (so you either choose the backpack, or go sniper-medic in medieval mode)
should be secondaries for heavy, soldier, pyro, demoman, sniper, and scout.
should be Melee for spy (so no backstabs)

Whats the point of it being the primary for medic? Then he would have no need for ammo at all.
It also wouldnt make much sense as a primary for engie. In case you havent noticed, it cant do damage. Secondary would be best for all classes. and just dont give it to medic or spy (Although, combat medic doe exist so it could be ok for that)

I think it should replace secondary to give engi more secondarys and rival a banner/sandvich
