Actually i created a version of the map that had a full story on the Ratman, the abandoned area of the Hotels, the screamer, why the hotels are full of combine activity etc but due to errors i was having i never released the final version...

Would it be at all possible to download said map file from somewhere other than the Workshop?

I'm not trying to be rude, but I thinkit is quite obvious why Ratman is now what he is is due to him having very little to eat down in his abode, and also for over 20 years, has never felt sunshine, hence the pale skin and morbidly thin body!

But if you mean something more along the lines of a backstory or context, I too think that would neat!

Maybe he is somehow linked to the Combine posters around the hotel, or the corpse in abandoned area...?

That's Ok! For the longest time, I was afraid to find Ratman myself! It was only recently that I faced my fears and found his lair!

is it scary?

I would love to havre the map up for you guys to download and try... Accept due to computer issues i needed somebody else to compile the map file. Assuming he still has the map file and that it still exists somewhere, i could make some tweaks and make it more playable.

Who is this individual you speak of? The one with the map file, that is. Are they on Steam? Could we somehow get in contact with them?

Because I am interested in this other version of the map!

I was able to contact him and i do have the map file i sent him, but i am not sure if it is the old version or the new version that i have never uplaoded because source sdk is really messed up (i suspect it's probably steam messing around with file locations again) :(

Well can you message me or something on how ratman became ratman and the combine stuff and all the screams and the weird stuff because i am very into this map i even found ratman and the screams JUMPSCARED ME SO HARD! But seriously i am very interested in knowing how ratman became ratman and everything else so please try to make the other map or message me or post it
