Scenario 1
Planet Kalee unoccupied (no space station/fleets)
Han Solo Unit alone in space over Kalee
Drag Han Solo to planet surface for invasion/seize planet unopposed

Result:
Screen goes black
Game crashes to desktop

Scenario 2
5+ Imperial Ground Units alone in space over Kalee
Drag units to planet surface for invasion/seize planet unopposed

Result:
Screen goes black
Game crashes to desktop

Fix:
Disable Infinite Unit Cap mod [STEAMMOD=3114367520]
Reading their forums, that mod has not yet been updated to work with the latest version of AoL. I must have been lucky for the first portion of my current new game.
