Hello Doc,

Long Question short, how do you add a unique unit to your civilizations? What programs do you use, how do I set up the coding, etc.?

I am creating a mod, and I have the core of it done. All I have left to do is insert the model. However, I can't get the model to appear in game to save my life. I've looked all over the web, but most of the links are either outdated or simply no longer exist. I've dissected a dozen mods with unique units (including yours) to understand the coding, but still no luck.

I'm honestly running out of options, but I don't want to quit this close to completing my mod.

Can you help me?

The truth is that I haven't added new models at all. Even though I haven't touched this mod in years and probably I already forgot how to make Civ mods, I can say that we're pretty much in the same boat - I have no idea how to add custom models, nor if that's even possible.

I even tried to add custom models, with little success. Back then the modding scene was pretty rudimentary and I couldn't find any good detailed tutorials about it, so I ended up reskinning a Giant Death Robot and call it a day.
