The ARPI Message System provides simple simulation of information exchange between players and simulated identities via a defined item, such as a smartphone, tablet or computer. Can be Email, SMS, Combat-Text, Pager, s.o.

Therefor a zeus can answer messages of players as a NPC contact, such as Mission Command, CIA-Agent or whatever you want to define. Only Zeus and Admin can access the simulated entities. Zeus dont require a item to access the Message System.

The activation of the ARPI Message System is restricted to players who have a specific item in their inventory. You can define ONE item currently, but more in the future.

How to implement in a mission?
  1. Place the ARPI Message System Initialisator in the editor and define a item (write the classname in the specific field). The player requires this item to access the ARPI Message System.
  2. Optional: Place the ARPI Identity Creator and name it, if you want to have "simulated NPC Contacts" in your mission.


How to use it in a ongoning mission
  1. You are required to have the defined item in your pockets.
  2. Standard activation key is F10. You can define a activation-key in an ongoning mission via Settings--> Modifications --> ARPI Message System
  3. To send a message: Choose your "send-identity" (normal player only have one). Choose your recipient. Type your message. Send it.
  4. To receive a message: You get a hint if you receive a message. Now it becomes a bit tricky, especcially if you have multiple identities as a zeus.. This is not optimal, but will be improved in the future: Combine-select the sender and receiver in the menue and press "activation" to access the conversation. The text will be displayed then.


Recommendations and Hints
  • Use the item "ar_equipment_smartphone" as main activator for ARPI MS. It has a ACE-Interaction to activate the Message Interface (more will follow)
  • On Mission-Start all active zeus will be identified and gain access to ARPI MS, after the start, there is a 2min loop to identify new zeus (to reduce network-traffic). A new zeus or when zeus has to reconnect, may have to wait 2 minutes.
  • It will be possible to define multiple items in the future

Is there an option to scroll the message history? Once it is filled up you can't read new messages coming in..

We are aware of this issue with the scrolling bar. I hope there will be a fix in a few weeks (3-4 weeks)
