Trying to do some modding myself but I'm having a hard time understanding tech trees..
This PC> Documents> Paradox Interactive > Hearts of Iron 4 > Mod> some random number that u need to go thro> find the archive in the random number notepad or what ever> then u go to that place and copy and paste things so u can edited later...
am i helpful? no? ok
oh... i see...
its a complicated step to put ur custom researchable unit ingame...
u need to have name for the units like shown here
"advanced_mech"
u need to add a custom equipment name like "mech_equipment_3"
put this { things or whatever u call them...
then after that u need to put research_cost and the start_year date and dont forget to add numbers after then
after that... put modifier and put ai_will_do which is the ai's gonna use it or not and put numbers like and the date
next is the categories where u put ur custom unit tags like armour & cat_mech
oh ya... if u want to make a path... put this
"path = {
leads_to_tech = improved_mech
research_cost_coeff = 1
}
"
so that way u can research the next unit after that. research_cost_coeff is like taking up a research slot or what ever is it..
oh ya dont forgot to put down the positions of the template after the start_year
also make sure u have the name down on another folder have the things for it like the soft attack and hard attack...
good enough? no? ok
