I love this item so much, can it be released as a mod?
Having your submissions as mods open them to a higher audience (Gamebanana, TF2mods.net or where ever you host it). And it can hype people up for the item. There isn't any harm in it, really, but it can make a lot of people (Like me) very happy. I'm willing to give the maker two TF2 keys to release it, even. That's how much I like it!

The default grenades aren't hidden due to the King of Scotland Cape not hiding that bodygroup.

The cape doesn't hide the default grenades, so it'll look really bad. Only thing we can replace that does is the Ornament Armament, since it's the only team colored item that removes the grenades.

I don't know much about models, but can't the .qc be somehow modified to remove the Grenades?

No, the .qc doesn't define what bodygroups should show on the player model :(
