How could the people in the KR universe possibly know that an austrian republic would never work?

i dont know the fact that in world war one tha austro hungarian empire barely had a parlimentary systyem of its own, the austrians had problems just trying to "autonomize" the non-german areas in their empire.

I agree. Very odd that by 1936 (start of game) Austria is still a democratic state. Highly unlikely, especially in this case where they lost the Great War and thus their entire empire. At the utmost minimum I’d imagine they’d be authoritarian democrat. But they should start as either paternal autocrats or national populists. Any of such along with a strong Valkisch party prominence.

yeah if they think something different would of happened in a bunch of fake characters, i'd say authortarian democratic as they were democratic but dolfuss slipped and falled and disolved the parliment.

though he was never ruler/leader of austria in kaiserireich, still they should just add historical context and not just make ♥♥♥♥ up.
