Miner goes backwards
once the miner has passed through the asteroid, it flies backwards to it starting coordinates, then moves over and makes another pass. Is this intended or is it supposed to flip around and make a pass back and forth till it is full?

I'm having the opposite of this, it goes to my GPS coordinate, and then spins 180 away from the asteroid, and then flies forward drills engaged, claiming in the console that it is indeed mining, and flies away from the asteroid...

Is it possible you guys put the sensors on the opposite side of the miner from the drill?

I know this is a bit of an older thread, but I'm having this exact same issue, the sensor is definitely pointing forward (past the drills).

mine was going sideways, my pblock was on the back, sensor on front, but that makes me think it's about the direction the blocks are rotated. looking for info, watched the splitsie vid, his pblock was on front, screen facing forward, maybe the rotation of the remote control is it...

Same problem, sensor facing forward, pblock facing forward, remote control facing forward

Yeah, tried all of those in different positions/directions and it doesn't make a difference. My drills are located at the front too

maybe identify the thrusters named forward and reverse, then change the names?

I deleted my ship and spawned it in again which seemed to fix it

My ship has been experiencing this problem too; playing in survival mode, everything facing forward.
