Mod not working? CLICK HERE!
So the mods not working, huh? Please try the following below to (most likely) solve your problems!

The mod can crash for a variety of reasons, this can be everything from mod conflicts, outdated coding or corruption! No worries, these should all be fixable if you're willing to sacrifice some mods.

HOW TO SOLVE YOUR ISSUES:

  1. Mod conflict

The mod can cause your game to crash with certain mods that do changes to the map or add in new nations. This is because the mod is reliant on the original map and the available tags.
Examples of such mods are: Kaiserreich, Millennium Dawn, Old War Blues, Road to 56, Releaseable Countries, Beautiful States, Better States.

    > Disable mods that changes map and states or adds in new countries.

  2. Corruption

When you downloaded the mod the files might have become corrupt. This can happen from a variety of reasons:
    - Steam updated the mod and the files didn't get written correctly or only partially written.
    - Steam downloaded the mod incorrectly and didn't get written correctly or only partially written.
    - Your harddrive is full and can't download the whole mod. (You need to have 2 MB available)
    - Your harddrive is decaying. Very unlikely, but if you have an old harddrive, things might get deleted accidentally.

    > Check if you have enough space on your harddrive which has the mod files on it. Unsubscribe from the mod and resubscribe after Steam has gotten to delete it.

If this still doesn't work, go to your mod downloads folder which normally is located in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\394360\1352503602

Delete the whole folder you are in. The code is the mod ID.
Steam will then automatically download the mod again when it detects it is missing. If it still doesn't appear. Unsubscribe and subscribe to the mod again.

  3. Mod doesn't appear in my mod list

If the mod doesn't appear in the mod list then you have a very strange phenomena going on. Try the steps for corruption, and if that doesn't work you should check if the mod downloaded at all. That is checked by trying to locate the mod within your computer (this is covered within corruption). If it still doesn't work try resubscribing to the mod and check your download settings which you find within your Steam app. Go to the toolbar (the bar all the way to the top) and click on "Steam", then "Settings", then "Download" and check if your bandwith is restricted or there are only certain times Steam allows you to download. Uncheck those that you believe stops you from downloading. The checkboxes that you should look after are:

    - Update only games automatically between: [Uncheck this]
    - Allow updates during playing [Check this]
    - Restrict updates while streaming [Uncheck this]

You should of course look over the "Restrict bandwith" and put it to "No limit".

    > Check if the mod is downloaded, check if your download settings allow you to download it and check if you have enough space to download it.

If you still have issues all I can recommend is a plain reinstall of the whole game. As this is an uncommon problem that I can provide little help with.

  4. Outdated

Sometimes Hearts of Iron IV updates, and some mods stop working. It is wonderful is it not?
When Hearts of Iron IV updates, it is usually not a big issue using an outdated mod if its just 1 version behind. For example using a 1.7 mod in 1.8. This varies from mod to mod, and some mods still works since 1.4! You should however always check if the mod still works by enabling it and running the game with it enabled. If it works, it works!

If the mod doesn't work however you should let the owner know about it and they'll be fixing it at once. In this case you should let me know about it in the comments or on the Discord server.[discordapp.com]
This is NOT something you can fix yourself so you should just wait it out until the mod gets updated. I personally post new discussions for all the new updates that come out, and you may feel free to subscribe to the forum to get notifications about the new updates.

However if you are a professional or amateur Clausewitz programmer you can try updating the mod for yourself. Although keep in mind that you are not permitted to publish your update without my permission so you will have to ask me about it. I will most likely not accept your work unless it is a total rework or a very creative way of using it. So the updated mod will be for your personal use only and sharing with your buddies only. DO NOTIFY YOUR BUDDIES ABOUT NOT PUBLISHING THE MOD.

    > The mod might still work, give it a try alone. If it doesn't work, notify me and I'll update the mod.

If the mod still doesnt work for you, me and Indigo will be more than happy to help you! Just leave a comment below, a discord[discordapp.com] message (you're allowed to DM!) or a steam message with your problem and we will try to help you solve it as quickly as we're on.

Hope this helps and enjoy RFT! :winter2019happyyul:
