This is a deeper elaboration of the mechanics briefly explained in the description, also including mechanics not explained there. This can also be found in-game under Hints.

IN-GAME INFO
OBJECTS: Most objects not seen in a standard RM are selectable and renamed to link the geography to the game mechanics. Some objects have abbreviations in parentheses linking it to the instructions here. If no abbreviation, it is already in the name.
WARNINGS: Instructions about important events will appear as chat instructions. Some of these also with custom soundtracks.
RIGHT CORNER: In the right corner you can find information about several mechanics, mostly economic. Each rug placed here represents a minute of control. The names of the bonfires and relic cart here changes according to the number of rugs, functioning as a timer.
UPPER CORNER: The upper corner has diplomatic functions and relevant info. There you can do some decisions.

HEGEMONY (He): Three tall flags can be found and taken control of. They are placed in:
Bordeaux / Western area - marked with Cross
Belgrade / Balkan area - marked with Crater
Riga / Baltic area - marked with Barrel.
Take control over one of these and keep it for 12 min / 144 years in order of gaining hegemony and an income of stone. This hegemony is lost if another player takes the flag.
Gain hegemony at two of these flags to win (no allied victory).
In the far right corner you can follow the status on this.

RELIC CART (RC): With first player eliminated a Relic Cart will be placed out in Heidelberg in germanic area. It is initially marked with a sign. When someone has kept the cart for 32 min / 384 years they win (no allied victory). Time needed is lowered by four minutes for every player eliminated down to 12 min. Current owner will only reset its timer if kept less than four minutes. Warnings will be sent when it is only ten or two minutes left. In the far right corner you can follow the status on this. The Relic Cart can’t be loaded into transports.

ALLEGIANCE DIVIDE (AD):
The main areas for this are marked with gallows.
There are two alternating phases in the game lasting for ten minutes each.
- Phase 1 leaves the owner of Rome (marked with roman ruins) with a pope in the upper corner with which he can nominate a new player for the rivaling sides. The pope is given 100 seconds / 20 years before the end of phase 1 and must be used before the end of the phase.
- Phase 2 starts with the players choosing sides in the conflict over the germanic areas. (If player 1 keeps the papacy he will be locked to the side of player 3 the first round). Note there is a limit to each side. This is all done in the upper corner with the Electors (Kings). For every two players eliminated the limit is narrowed down for each side by one. Leaders are set to support their teams while the others may choose sides. The one who gained the pope current round gains an advantage here. If you don’t choose a side you will function as a team of one. You then may gain an advantage when choosing side in next round.
RESULT of the Allegiance Divide at the end of phase 2 is a winning team proclaimed according to who controls Würzburg. This happens every 20 min.
- The controller of the flag in Würzburg gains towers in Darmstadt and Magdeburg if open (marked with cobblestone and lumber).
- The leader of the team gains a relic in his initial capital if open (marked with rock and torch of owner).
- All players not on the winning side takes damage to defensive stone structures: 500 points to walls (p8) and towers, 750 to gates and fortified walls and 1000 to castles. Only castles are affected for player 5.
- If a player wins the flag without a side chosen, he wins, possibly gaining both the towers and the relic in his initial capital. Everyone else loses and will take double damage.

VASSALAGE (Va):
- Periodically Submitters (Queens) are placed in the upper corner in the flag room with whom you can make yourself a vassal of someone or free your vassals.
- Being a vassal of someone means that your diplomatic stance is locked on allied. NOTE that the overlord can still choose diplomatic stance freely. An impaled unit next to a players flag indicates which players are vassals of the owner of the flag.
- Become a vassal by moving your Submitter up to someones’ flag.
- Free all your vassals by moving your Submitter to your own flag. Vassals can free themselves in five ways: Build a wonder, gain 2 relics, keep the relic cart 8 minutes, attain 2 hegemony flags, or control Würzburg at the end of a round of Allegiance Divide.
- Habsburg Union for player 4 and 6: by deleting both their Fortified Palisades in the flag room within first 2 minutes of game will make them mutual vassals.

- STORAGE LIMIT: If you have more than 1600 of any resource, that resource will slowly deplete until under 1600 again. This mechanic only applies if 50% or more of the living players vote for it in the upper corner. An impaled corpse displays who the last victim of the mechanic was.
- STORAGE MINIMUM: If you have less than 160 of WOOD or FOOD, it will slowly resupply itself until above 160 again.

- AMERICA: An island representing the Americas (marked with a pile of loot), is placed on the west side. The one having a castle there will gain 45 g/min (equal to 1,5 relics).

- TRADE POSTS (TP): There are four posts for trade with the rest of the world (marked with piles of food). They are placed in Amsterdam, Tangier, Alexandria and Sarai. Build towers on the cobblestone to gain control of the trade post. Controlling one gives 20 g/min, two gives 60 g/min, three gives 120 g/min and four gives 240 g/min.

- TREASURY OF EUROPE (ToE): The treasury gives 150 gold to one chosen player four times per Allegiance Divide round (AD rounds last 20 min. First payment skipped). For this to work, a castle, marked or university is needed on the cobblestone are in Venice (area marked with a statue). The one owning the building can not receive this tribute, but can choose the recipient with the Banker (Horse) in the upper corner.

- COBBLESTONE STREETS: Wall pieces on cobblestone will take rapid periodical damage.
- SHIPWRECK (Sh): Warships in upper corner (area is marked with shipwrecks) take 10 points of damage every 10 sec.

- TRADE REPUBLICS (TR): A player with no town center in either northern Italy, Netherlands or Hanseatic League area (corners and edges marked with broken carts) will take 10 points of damage to all trade units per 2,5 min if the number of units surpasses 3.

- HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR (HRE): A player with no town center in the Imperial Area (centered by sign; 20 squares north and south, 15 squares east and west) consisting of Austria and Bohemia, takes damage to defensive stone structures in the germanic area (corners marked with signs on ice). Only castles are affected for player 5.
