My mod "Auto Stack And Pick Up" does sort of the same thing, and there is a version for DS. The difference is, it doesn't ever destroy items lying on the ground, and it doesn't clean/stack things at intervals, but instead stacks items when they are dropped/spawned next to similar items. It can also do this during server start up, so if a bunch of rocks spawn next to each other, they will be stacked.
