Because the spawns only work in TTT.

If you're in sandbox, just type "sv_cheats 1" in console and no-clip with V.

weird how this problem has existed for years now. anyone have a fix?

It's working as intended; you spawn in the room and at the start of the round it will teleport players to one of the two maps, so the "fix" is to just play the gamemode normally.

it is not working as intended please help, the round starts and we are still stuck in the room

Looks like a recent update must've broken it.

It spawns the players in the room and there is a teleport trigger meant to send players to one of the two maps, chosen randomly, at the start of a round.

It still works properly in TTT2, but you should report this as a problem on Gmods end.
