It might be a good idea to add a check for the decisions to unite Japan, so that if the ruling dynasty is the Yamato dynasty, they get elevated to an empire and change to the Japanese Empire government type, rather than feudal monarchy and king-tier. It would make the mod compatible with ET.

Just replace:

change_government = feudal_monarchy
set_government_rank = 2

With:

if = {
limit = {
dynasty = "Yamato"
}
change_government = japanese_empire
set_government_rank = 3
else = {
change_government = feudal_monarchy
set_government_rank = 2
}
}

@MadamRose that would definitely be nice and from my very limited knowledge of coding and change lines of text not very hard however we have not yet recieved an update since 1.22 which is unfortunate

I believe upon the next release I will have to bifurcate the decision, to ensure the Yamato dynasty is the ruling dynasty; as it is I’ve noticed even upon setting the ruler and heir as Yamato, fixed dynasty remains the dynasty that chooses the decision.
As it stands the first decision will be probably Establish the Yamato clan as rulers (abolish the shogunate), and second decision will establish the Empire of Japan, in other words change the government to “Japanese Empire”

is it possible to make it compatible with meiou and taxes? Japan is not really looked into in that mod.

I'm not familiar enough with meiou and taxes to confidently create a version both compatible and balanced for that. Anyone who wants to can, though, publish their own version.

As I've said before: "It is my policy that anyone can use the work I've done here, and modify or add it to their own mod, and publish it, though please note the original source."

Why not make Yamato Japan a separate tag, maybe have a disaster/civil war that would let the player choose? If you go that route, would it be possible to make it so the Shogunate can't call allies in? Or if it's just rebels, have the Yamato seizing power bring in the new tag?

EDIT: After some fiddling around, I believe the mod is incompatible with Draiocht's misc addon. Any idea on why/a fix? This seems like something that might get implemented into BT proper some day tbh

In general, I avoided using a new tag "a nation formation event" (in any of my mods really) because it causes more conflicts with other coding in the game that would use the "♥♥♥" tag; not the least of which is the messing with a good deal of flavor events.

As far as I know, Draiocht's misc addon, is a place for Draiocht to experiment with ideas he has for Beyond Typus, but doesn't want to suddenly implement in the mod. As such its sort of a quasi-beta, and it's conflicts with other mods can be unpredictable. My mods are generally designed with the base BT in mind.

I've experienced that when using this mod every single independent country gets advanced casus belli, is this intentional or a bug?

Could you explain in more detail what happens? (every little detail helps) And, before I begin data-mining could you give me a list of all the other mods you had enabled at the time?

Well, I did have alot of other mods on, but this one was the one which enabled the advanced casus belli. And nothing really "happends" it's really just as soon and you load in as a country, you have the advanced casus belli ready to use

I looked into it, and it seems like the Extended Timeline mod is the cause, I tried running only ET and this mod, and the issue is still there

This mod is not tested for ET, and probably not compatible.

Hey I'm wondering if replacing the -1% AT decay with morale would make more sense in light of the description?

It bugs the "L'État, c'est moi" reform. It does not add extra governing capacity with this mod.

I think you might wanna update it.
