I am running a Macbook Pro mid 2012, OSX High Sierra 10.13.6. Game is installed through steam and has worked for several years. I followed the instructions on here for Mac install. I am pretty sure I used the right dll from Nexus mods (though the file looked the same) Here is what happens when I start the game: The WG studios logo appears, NGV Labs logo plays, human intro video happens. After the video a window appears with the heading “FE_WG_LOGIN_EULA_TITLE” on its heading, then inside the window it says “PLACEHOLDER” on the bottom are two buttons one that says “FE_NO” (if this one is selected the game immediately closes” the other button says “FE_YES” if this one is selected a master of orion logo appears with the words loading under it. But it never loads it just stays a loading screen forever. Any help would be appreciated. I love the MOO games and really want to play a less buggy version lol. thanks guys.

Mac support is best effort since I do not have one to develop or test on.

You need to find and post your unity player log to see what the crash could be. I think on a mac the log is just called "Player.log". According to unity it should be located at "~/Library/Logs/Company Name/Product Name/Player.log"

But I'm not positive on that location given my early statement.

I'm not aware of the need to get something from nexus if you subscribed to this mod? There is a specific fix for Linux but Linux and OSX is different enough to need their own dll.

The instillation guide just says the steam version had the linux dll in the osx version, by mistake and to download the osx dll from nexus mods (which I did.) The Player.log file is 10mb in size, do you want the whole thing? Or just begginning or end paragraphs shared?

That guide is way old and so is that issue with the mismatch on the dll for the steam workshop build.

This is indicating a pathing or permission problem of some sort. Are you positive this worked before applying UCP?

If you had not ran it right before install, I would recommend verify local files in steam to remove UCP. Running it and make certain it works.

Then reapply UCP and see if the same error shows up

It definately was working before, i have been playing it again for weeks. I will verify local files and reinstall the UCP (ignoring the old installation guide) and get back to you. thanks for the help

Okay, so I verified the MOO files, ran the game. It played fine. downloaded the 6.0a patch. Copied the steam osx dll into the proper folder, copied the assets into the proper folder. copied the unofficial code patch folder over to the proper folder. Launch the game, and it just stayed at the loading screen again before the menu... hmm perhaps i am doing somethig wrong?

In your earlier post you said it was looking for a file in the path:

I dont think that is a filepath that exists on a mac (i cant find it anywhere)

Ignore that one, that is just a unity debug from when they created the game, it get baked in.

DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path "/Localization/config.csv".

is the missing file.

Almost certain this is a merge issue. I wonder if remerging from the Linux version would get you working.

I know you are doing this just for your own fun, so you dont owe me tech support lol. but if you wanted to walk me through how to do that i would appreciate it.

The merge is a manual process. I'm working on some issues with my final testing for 6.1 at the moment , but will attempt to remerge in a bit. When done I will stick it on nexus and reply to this thread. But it might be tomorrow until I get to it.
