Installing your mod next to others

Was downloading some mods.. checked what they have done.. copied the origin modding-files to my own new local mod and made my changings.

I did that because I want try to understand modding @ MoO and I don't want risk game-version incompatibilites because many mods are last updated years ago.

Now I have a copy of globals.yaml from vanilla in my mod.. with some changes here and there. UCP also have globals.yaml with just a few sections of the vanilla-file. It's not just globals.. its also RacialPerks and others..

How to be sure that both mods ( my own and UCP ) will work properly and not collide?

I could check ingame if my changes still work.. but you did so many changes to the game that I feel not able to check if UCP is still working 100%.. or if my mod is overwriting partially UCP.

Is there a ranking which mods will be loaded first, second, third.. ? Or is there a log file which shows mod errors ?

Mod load order is control under the Mods section in game. The ranking displayed is load order, you can adjust by moving cursor over and entry and slightly to the left.

Bottom mods can override top mods. There is an ouput_log.txt file assuming you are windows or player.log if Linux/Mac it contains some information that might be helpful.

But in general it is trial and error.

How did you get the mod to download to your computer? The only mod that has done that for me is UCP. All others I subscribe to I cannot find the source. I've been avoiding old mods and would like to be able to mod some of them so they are current.

I would exit the game. Browse the workshop using the Steam client. When I do that it basically downloads immediately. If not exit and restart the Steam Client.

Thank you for your reply. It helped me find my problem. I was looking here:

C:\Users\walte\Documents\Master of Orion\Mods

Which is where I found the UCP YAML files.

I needed to be looking here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\298050

Your UCP set up files are in a folder there. Everyone else's YAML files are in folders there.
