History of the balkan union
1918 - Yugoslavia formed.

1919 - Greek-Yugoslav talks begin of a formation of a union between the balkan countries in order to protect themselves from northern and western european aggression. The government will have two capitals, belgrade and athens in order to preserve the equality of the nations and to form two cultural centers of the country.

Early 1920 - Multiple popular figures from both countries begin to speak out against the talks as they fear that both countries nationality will fade out in the light of a new nationality, Balkan.

Early 1920 - Greek king orders the execution of multiple heads of opposition, urges the yugoslav dictator to do the same.

Mid 1920 - The Balkan Union is officially formed but both countries still operate as mostly seperate entities, with both a Greek leader and a Yugoslav leader.

Late 1920 - The National Unity Act is passed, forcing both governments to work in unison, Greek and Yugoslav militaries are combined as well as their public services.

Early 1921 - A campaign to "unite the balkans" is launched, it calls for the annexation of Bulgaria and southern romania

Early 1921 - A bulgarian soldier opens fire on a man chasing after his dog that ran across the border, many skeptics believe this was staged in order to create anti-bulgarian sentiment.

Mid 1921 - The balkan government orders an official ulitimatum to bulgaria, join the union as the 3rd member, or be annexed and recieve little representation.

Mid 1921 - The bulgarian government declines the ulitimatum, mobilises their military and pleas to the League of nations for intervention. The Balkan government argues that this decleration of war is no different from the series of wars launched in britain to unify the country, the league of nations does not intervene.

Late 1921 - Balkan forces capture the last bulgarian stronghold of Varna, the bulgarians unconditionally surrender.

Early 1922 - In the balkan government, the "Pacification of Peoples Act" is passed and allows greek and yugoslav governments to launch anti-bulgarian culture propoganda and use the military to quell riots in order to unify the nation, this leads to violence against bulgarians, many bulgarians start claiming to be Balkan peoples to avoid targeting.

Late 1922 - The number of people claiming to be bulgarian on the national census has dropped drasticly, from some 6 million people to 1 and a half million.

1926 - After a few years of relative peace and stability in the nation, many Greeks and Yugoslav peoples in the government begin calling for the intergration of romanian lands into the balkan union.

Mid 1927 - The Balkan government begins talks with Romania about the intergration of southern Romanian lands into the country, Romania responds with "If you want these lands, you'll have to go through 500,000 armed, angry romanian peoples."

Early 1928 - The Balkan government issues an ultimatum similar to that of the bulgarian one 7 years ago, surrender your lands and be given representation, or have them be forcefully taken.

Early 1928 - Romania declines the ultimatum, and goes to war with The Balkan Union, pleas to the League of nations for intervention, the league of nations again does nothing.

Mid 1928 - The Yugoslav and Greek leaders agree that it would be safer to have one capital in times of war, so as to not split the country if one is captured, the Liquid Government Act is passed, moving the whole government to Athens in times of war, and in times of peace have two capitals, Belgrade and Athens.

Late 1928 - After moderate losses on both sides and the capture of Buchacrest by Balkan forces, the league of nations intervenes and gives the Balkan government these unnegotiable terms: The balkan government can keep the captured romanian lands on the terms that half of their army is disbanded and stays that way until 1936, and they can no longer start wars of aggression. The Balkan government agrees.

Late 1929 - A year has passed since the war has ended, but the entire government still remains in athens, the yugoslav government has lost a majority of their seats to Greek officials, and many begin to realise that the Greeks now rule the union.

1931 - Riots break out in Belgrade, Skjope, and Zagreb, calling to disband the "Greek Empire" and comparing it to the likes of the Austro-Hungarian empire. Greek officials send the military to the cities and cites the Pacification of Peoples Act as their lawful reasoning.
