as you have stated two years ago:
"The ad in question has existed for years at the point, but it should only open if you deliberately click the link in the addon's menu. I would absolutely not put such an intrusive ad in the addon.

I have not been able to reproduce the issue, so my best guess is that some other addon -- probably one related to customizing the spawn menu -- is trying to do something clever."
