You have to enable skin in the options menu on the right and apply it to blocks.

It is a reskin.
But wooden poles, single and double blocks, logs skinned with any pack could not break in half. So about the durability it is in some sense true.

Does this actually change the material buildup of it? Like make it more durable for flying? Or is it literally just a reskin of the double wooden block?
