Description
Minimal Mods Required (all mods are for the shells and the projector rig)

1. Description

This design was a proof-of-concept project, looking at the feasibility of a Grav-Cannon that utilized a magazine system as opposed to traditional single-shot cannons. This cannon was built to go in my Artillery Cruiser (coming soon-ish! Sneak Peak in the last picture).
As anyone who's played tank games will know, the major advantage of magazine systems is the huge burst damage potential, compared to single shot guns. The Hades is no exception, unloading 5 shells in 20 seconds. However, the trade-off is inferior sustained damage.

The mechanism is extremely stable, user-friendly, and reliable, providing A) the Projector Rig is aligned properly, and B) Tool shake is turned OFF. It will still work with tool shake turned ON, but I can't guarantee it's reliability, as the tolerances involved in the loading mechanism are very tight and the grinders can throw it out of alignment.

IT DOES WORK IN SURVIVAL! The shells uses Taleden's Inventory Manager to draw uranium into their reactors before they're detached by the grinder.

The small ship shells are projected by the Projector Rig. The Hades Blueprint comes with this included and already locked in place, but it may be beneficial to have it as a separate blueprint in case something happens during testing.

The shell it currently uses can be found here (required for operation). At the moment, this is the best shell I've been able to develop FOR SURVIVAL. Creative is a whole other ball game ;)

2. Operation

Basic operation instructions are below. However, more detailed instructions, as well as info on Projector Rig Alignment, Safe Timer Calibration for Different Weld/Grind Speeds, Integration into Ships and Building Alternate Shells, can be found in my Hades Operations Manual. It's highly recommended that you take a look, or at least consult this first if you encounter any issues.

  1. If using the Hades in Survival, first ensure that you place uranium into the RED cargo container.

  2. The Hades Load/reload mechanism is fully automated- a push of a button will begin loading the magazine, indicated by the flashing green light.

  3. Once loaded, the light will go solid green, indicating a shell is in the breech.

  4. The Red light indicated that the safety is on, preventing accidental firing during loading. The light will turn OFF when you disengage the safety.

  5. You're now free to aim, activate the gravity propulsion, and begin firing.

  6. A single button will fire the shell, then load the next into the breach. The solid green light will turn OFF after firing, and back ON once a new shell is ready to go.

  7. Once the magazine is empty, the safety will lock the breach, and the system will reset ready to reload the magazine (approx 13 sec. Construction is disabled during this time)
