Want customizable Shelves? Here they are. With custom shelf objects support.

This mod works in Beta 1.

  • Shelf (empty bookshelf)
  • Double Shelf (two wide)
  • Ladder Shelf (just bars)
  • Glass Side Table (has a bottom layer for magazines)

  • Shelf Server (Unlocks in 2005 with a bandwidth of 75 Mbps)

More might be added in the future.
I don't have plans on adding more objects, however other modders can create their own Decoration.
The maximum dimensions to fit into a shelf are the following:
0.4625m in length.
0.45m in depth.
0.32m in height.

Please note: In the current Alpha(s) the selection box is quite buggy making it unable to select objects close under the roof and other furniture. (Stuff in the glass side table can be selected from the top). Due to the high amount of snap points placing decoration inside shelves can sometimes be a pain. I am sorry.
The selection boxes got fixed in a Software Inc. Update.

The double shelf when full of books is adding a maximum of 5% bonus on skill and on other attributes that I don't remember the name and it's no use putting another double shelf full that the 5% doesn't change. Before with I got 25% with one or two double shelves depending on the number of tables in the room.

I have tried without this specific mod and just putting a whole bunch of modded stuff in and it still happens. Anything more than say 7% effectiveness boost will do this. (anything more than the vanilla TV, clock, and bookcase). Might be the base game having some strange calculations somewhere.

Hey maybe the mod just has to be updated for beta, but if I place a bunch of this stuff on shelves including other modded stuff like the printers for example, there seems to be something strange where inspiration for the lead designer just plummets so extremely quickly he can't even do one iteration. I have tried a bunch of combinations but it seems like if you try to do more than the vanilla clock + bookshelf effectiveness boost max just destroys my employees, lead designers lose inspiration quickly and other employees just get tired after half a day.

The mod works in Alpha 11 for me.
I love that table and the fact that you can put stuff in the lower part of it. :cozycrashfish:

Thanks for making this mod. I have noticed if I put small servers and printers on the upper shelves they can't be removed but I'm just glad I can do that.

So, for Alcohol, it seems that InteractionPoints is decommissioned for everything except "Repair" and use only inheritance of his base stuff for animations. Deleted InteractionPoints and change basse stuff by Instant Coffee solves the problem and works well (just have to imagine that employees drink old rum in a coffee cup :) )

For server rack, disable upgrade and add :
<IsSnapping>True</IsSnapping>
<SnapsTo>OnTable</SnapsTo>

Replace <Animation>11</Animation> by <Animation>Repair</Animation> which seems to be the correct syntax solves the problem too.

No more errors on launch :steamhappy: and works fine

There is the new XML files if you want to use it for update @Emonadeo

I try to identify furnitures that cause this error and only Alcohol (... :steammocking: ) and Shelf Server are concerned.

Continuing to investigate...
