The Ludendorff bridge at Remagen stood from 1919 to 1945, in March of 1945, the bridge was damaged by both sides, as the Americans bombed the retreating Germans, and the Germans, attempting to halt the American advance tried to blow the bridge. On the 7th it was captured by the 9th Armored Division, on the 17th it collapsed.

There have been some video game recreations of the bridge at Remagen, most notably is in the final mission of Call of Duty: Finest Hour. The American capture of the bridge is also depicted in the movie The Bridge at Remagen (1969).
