XPAR Frey: Charge Batteries Smartly

Kuvaus
Frey charges batteries. Usually those of docked ships or torpedos. Frey can fire off timers when batteries reach specific levels of charge, making it a good way to fire off battery-powered torpedos.

Sample world with battery-powered ships, cooperation with Freya, and torpedo boat here: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=460744601

Frey is a cut-back version of Freya with just a little bit of functionality. Install and use in the same way as Freya: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=445817025

Please note that batteries switch over from charge to output VERY SLOWLY, typically taking almost half a second. This is not something I can do anything about.

Frey is compatible with the newest builds.

I doubt it.

Just checking if this script still works. Guessing not but maybe it is.

A change I'm sure anyone who's ever had to chase a gravity drive because they forgot to turn off the masses before placing new generators will appreciate. But also a more realistic approach to building stuff.

Troublesome for getting scripts started though i'm sure. In fact I'm probably gonna have to put a startup timer on my drone if what you said is accurate. Doesn't hurt to have an initialization timer though

Hm. Right now I'm fighting with a change to Space Engineers that starts everything turned off.

it's particularly importantt o maintain constant power in the case of autonomous drones, a interuption can leave them sitting there with no idea what to do, bottlenecking your productivity
Animal 20.6.2015 klo 22.16
maintaining power in the even that the programmable block is on the drone rather than the base
Craig P  [tekijä] 20.6.2015 klo 22.11
I used to have that, but I wasn't sure what it would ever be used for.

suggestion, option to activate the timer AFTER switching batteries to discharge

Souper07: Yes, but only if the ship has any power at all when you undock. In general, the easiest solution is to have a "power on" group that turns the batteries off of recharge. This is especially true because Frey can't always tell when a battery has disconnected, and will telepathically turn them back to recharge once.

Works great. If i install Freya on my drone, will it automaticly turn recharge mode off when I undock?
