Description
The Shady Tree Left by MrMaison

Update 1/30/2016: I fixed the title issue so the tree should show up in all existing assets in older cities.

UPDATE 1/29/2016:
Since After Dark, this tree was rendered to look very different from it's original state. The lighting and shadows of the foliage changed to a lower quality look. It is now updated to look as intended close to the original by tweaking vertex normals.

Also now you can enjoy in game icons with this...finally!

STATS:
2,241 tris
1024 texture for clarity.

I strongly suggest getting Boformer's Random Tree Rotation mod. With this now you only need one of these trees unless you want to purposely put the trees facing opposite. http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=556784825&searchtext=

Also BloodyPenguin's No Radioactive Mod http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=666425898
And Prop and Tree Anarchy http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=593588108

Sharp Textures mod really makes a difference in how the foliage looks in game http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=793176674

Special thanks to Shroomblaze who not only brougt this technique to my attention, but also helped with fixing the mesh.

This is a tree that will provide your city with more shade in the neighborhoods. This tree is part of a 2 piece set. One for the left and one for the right side of any subject (it's basically the same tree rotated to mirror itself). I did it this way because we cannot rotate trees in game....at least that's what I read. If this changes we would only need one such tree to get the mirrored coverage. Feel free to use any one alone for what ever. Great for small roads and walkways and I imagine even parks.

This version is for the left side.

TIP: East/West directional placement will give the most extreme coverage when trying to fully cover a subject in game. So if you especially place them on a road going north/south (or in that general orientation), the branches that cover the street the most would point either west or east.

This tree does causes the game to crash! it creates a graphical glitch which makes is impossible to play the game. I have disabled all my assets and re-activated them 10 by 10 in order to find the problem and this tree set was the problem. The game won't actually crash or shut down but the glitch will make it impossible to play which results in the same thing.

Trees do not cause crashes.

Never trust a shady tree...

I don't know if any park uses that tree or how many I planted :D could share my system specs too, but nevermind that.
I just had a crash again today and disabled an Additional Network mod and the game launches again. I don't know what's happening, I always had all those mods/assets enabled and no problem, until one day the game crashed before the main menu. This is solved by disabling the least updated asset/mod.

Sorry for bothering you.

shawn- another question......do you have any parks that are using this tree? you may want to investigate on that end if you do.

Sorry for the mis types on my last post.

shaw- Ok I will. How many of these trees are you planting? What's your system specs?

If anyone else is experiencing this, please let me know. I've never know about ant trees that would cause a crash. They are very simple assets and have no mechanical stats that effect the simulation except maybe memory.

Don't know much about how these things affect the game, it would crash until I disabled this asset. So I assumed it caused some error and you might want look into it. ;) no offense
