RiverGard Keep

is a fortified stronghold located along the banks of the Dessarin River in the Forgotten Realms setting of Dungeons & Dragons. Once built to protect river trade and guard against bandit raids, the keep has fallen under the control of the Water Cult, who secretly use it as a base for their operations in the region. Outwardly, it appears to be a restored fort manned by mercenaries hired to protect shipping, but in truth, its leader—Jolliver Grimjaw—is a wereboar and a devoted servant of the Crushing Wave. The keep’s strategic location allows the cult to control river traffic, spy on travelers, and launch ambushes along the Dessarin Valley.
