Primarily constructed on larger asteroids, Atokiri Asteroid Colonies were primarily designed by Vaurgo Standard in order to extract the vast resources of the Schoshamo Outer Territories as well as providing enough living space for hundreds of thousands of colonists. Constructed with large topside city as well as large refineries and production facilities, the Atokiri is more than capable of housing over 200,000 people as well as holding over 100,000 m3 of refined resources for sale. To help fulfill it's massive power needs for a station of its size, the Atokiri is equipped with several large solar arrays to catch solar energy to act as a supplementary power source to its standard Hypermatter reactor.

Designed to be highly defensible with the firepower equivalent that of a Bahuyu II-class battleship, the Atokiri is perfectly built for the harsh frontier where Pirate and Xsotan attacks become a common occurrence for space stations as the Imperial Navy presence is at its weakest in the Outer Territories. The massive station features a powerful shield projector as well as carrying a large compliment of Arska Interceptor and Ragimo Multirole fighters to defend it from enemy attack. The Atokiri is designed this way to hold out as long as possible for Imperial Navy reinforcements, with its massive array of positron cannons and point defense guns capable of holding off entire fleets until Imperial Navy reinforcements can arrive to break the siege.

Even though the Atokiri is relatively small for a space station, the Atokiri easily dwarfs standard capital ships such as the Korura and Nijari-class Dreadnoughts being 20-30 times larger than those vessels. The Imperial Navy has began using some Atokiri stations as anchorages for its frontier sector fleets with the station easily capable of resupplying and refueling Battleships and Dreadnoughts making it a valuable part of the Imperial Navy's logistics network. With further growth and prospecting of the Schoshamo Outer Territories, more colonists and corporations begin to settle newly discovered resource rich sectors on Atokiri Asteroid Colony Stations.
