Ironridge Wildlife Sanctuary

After many months of building (and many years of owning the game), I present my first ever finished zoo, Ironridge Wildlife Sanctuary!

'Founded in the late 1960's in Pacific Northwest, USA, "Ironridge Zoo" was set up by a multi-millionaire as his private collection of rare and exotic animal species. The zoo opened to the public soon after and showed animals including elephants, tigers, lions, monkeys, and birds.
After controversy throughout the decades as animal welfare standards improved elsewhere, and an undercover exposure of deplorable conditions - Ironridge was shut in 2003 due to lack of funds and criticism, and handed over to the government. Determined to make it right, a scientist and animal lover purchased Ironridge in 2008, along with all of the existing animals that remained. Many of these animals were moved out due to welfare concerns, but their enclosures remain (bird aviaries, primate house, elephant yard), or were repurposed for different animals.
Just after the 10 year anniversary of the closure, Ironridge was reopened to the public as "Ironridge Wildlife Sanctuary" in April 2013. In current times, Ironridge Wildlife Sanctuary is conservation focused and takes in rescue animals that cannot be released to the wild. Ironridge Wildlife Sanctuary do not breed any rescue animals, and any that live in the park will do so until they pass from natural causes.
In 2025, Ironridge Wildlife Sanctuary announced that they would be developing a breeding program for the rare and endangered Przewalski’s Horse!’

Species List:
North America: Beaver, Grizzly Bear, Ocelot
Australia: Red Kangaroo, Emu, Tasmanian Devil
Africa: Warthog, Ostrich, Zebra, White Rhino, Western Chimpanzee, Honey Badger
Eurasia: Red Panda, Binturong, Malayan Tapir
Reptile House: Komodo Dragon, Green Iguana, Eastern Brown Snake, Gila Monster, Giant Forest Scorpion, Boa Constrictor

NOTE: This is a sandbox zoo with animal death turned off. Depending on your settings, when loading this zoo animals may suddenly die due to being over the lifespan age of their species. I am unsure whether this will occur but wanted to put out a warning. I also have several animal welfare settings turned off (plant type, coverage, etc).
Additionally, my PC is not the most high-spec in the world, and I find a lot of decorating difficult to focus on and complete, so a lot of the backstage areas are simple in design. Ironridge is not perfect, or super realistic, or anything special – but it is my baby in which I’ve grown to love and cherish immensely. Treat her well <3

Lastly, an honourable mention to console player Kingpin! His videos and discord server pushed me to keep going to finish Ironridge Wildlife Sanctuary, and this wouldn’t have happened at all without him or his Discord server (and some of the incredible players on the Server as well! Thank you!)
