We Were Brothers: Complete Collection

Beskrivelse
A collection of ships for the “We Were Brothers” modpack, centered around the Yugoslav Wars.
(yes, you can drive them)

Current version: Beta 0.2

To-Do before Release 1.0:
-fix stuff based on comments, if said problem isn't addressed in the possible questions below
-add unique sounds for engine startup and cannons + add better hull textures
-add details to cabin interiors

Important notes:

-Due to the nature of the battle they are being included in, these ships are SELF-PROPELLED ARTILLERY vehicles meant to be placed AT A DISTANCE from the battlefield, and I HAVE NOT tested these in ship-on-ship combat. If one of the ships takes too long or too short of a time to kill, tell me in the comments as well as what caliber of gun was used to destroy it so I can fix the ship health properly.

Included in this pack:

☆ Four ships:

- Koni-Class Frigate: A Soviet frigate purchased by the Yugoslav Navy with extremely heavy armament and, although it wasn't designed for this, the depth charge launchers in the front can also be used for a little trolling on land forces.

- Kotor-Class Frigate: A wholly Yugoslav-designed and made frigate, of which only 2 were made. It may not have the RBU-6000s of the Koni, but four incredibly-accurate P-15 missile launchers in the front will make short work of anything far away and directly in front of you.

- Končar-Class Missile Boat: A wholly Yugoslav-designed and made missile boat, of which 6 were made. A lighter package of a vessel armed with two Bofors guns and two P-15 launchers, it was used in most naval engagements against Croatia during the wars

- Type 21 Landing Craft (JNA): A wholly Yugoslav-designed and made landing craft

Possible questions:

Q: Why do the models/textures look like crap?
A: Although everything is easily fixable, I am only one guy which is why I’m going for speedy “good enough” additions so I can focus more time on map/mission development, and double that for this since (unlike my other packs) I have to model and texture all ships myself. Actual textures will 100% be added in time, though.

Q: Are you going to animate the cannons?
A: Yes, eventually. the Koncar- class does have cannon animations and I'll get around to adding the others in time.

Q: Can I request ships?
A: No.

Q: What else is coming, then?
A: A Type 21 for Croatia and some Yugoslav river boats in preparation for Vukovar (Nestin-class, possibly others).

Q: Are you going to make the ship decks walkable?
A: No. Most of the seat animations have you exit outside of the boat (no matter how big or small it is) and then you die, so….HOWEVER, several of the turret seats are placed around the ship, allowing for viewing from various parts of the deck. If you don't like this, please tell me in the comments and I'll put the seats back in the turrets if people say they don't like it.

Q: This ship also had [insert thing here], did you forget it?
A: No. I simply didn’t include it in order to keep the polygon count low (The Koni is already at 15k) and to diversify some of the ships. These models are posted on my Sketchfab account [sketchfab.com] and are entirely free to use for anything, if you want to add more to them.

Q: Are you going to include more ships with flags/markings of other countries? Like Libya/USSR/others?
A: No, because I want to keep the mod sizes as small as possible (each extra flag change will add another model to the pack). As mentioned above, you can download the ships off of Sketchfab since I modeled each of them myself, and texture them in Blender with whatever flag or markings you desire.

Q: Are you going to improve the models (especially the interior cabin) eventually?
A: Most likely yes, but it would likely be simple as I do not want to increase the polygon count too much. Things will be more detailed on smaller ships, though.

@BrockKids1 Much thanks.

@Rommels_Pet_Toaster_262 an update was released somewhat recently to the SDK with the "floating object" script that allows for making a tank or a car float. The boats are just that but using a boat model. Also, you're welcome.
