59式中型坦克（中国研制代号：WZ120，英文：Type 59 Medium Tank，简称：59式坦克），是20世纪50年代中国参考苏联T-54A中型坦克仿制并大量装备的一种中型坦克。该型坦克战斗全重36吨，乘员4人，最大时速50千米，最大行程560千米。主要武器有1门100毫米线膛炮，战斗射速7发/分，1挺12.7毫米高射机枪和2挺7.62毫米机枪，配有红外夜视仪可夜间驾驶 。车体首部和侧面的装甲较厚，炮塔成流线型，具有良好的抗弹能力。坦克具有较强的火力，装甲防护和机动性能良好，重量较轻，结构简单，工作可靠，使用维护方便。59式中型坦克是中国装备的国产第一代主战坦克。该坦克于1959年开始列装中国军队，在1980年代以前一直是中国装甲兵的主要装备。中国共生产了1万辆以上的59式坦克，绝大部分是包头617厂生产的，中国另一个坦克生产基地-洛阳拖拉机厂生产了500辆59式坦克
The Type 59 Medium Tank (Chinese development code: WZ120, English: Type 59 Medium Tank, abbreviated as Type 59 Tank) was a type of medium tank that China replicated and extensively equipped in the 1950s, referencing the Soviet T-54A medium tank. This type of tank has a combat weight of 36 tons, a crew of 4, a maximum speed of 50 kilometers per hour, and a maximum range of 560 kilometers. The main weapons include one 100mm rifled gun with a combat firing rate of 7 rounds per minute, one 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun and two 7.62mm machine guns, equipped with infrared night vision devices for night driving. The armor on the front and sides of the vehicle is thick, and the turret is streamlined, with good resistance to bullets. Tanks have strong firepower, good armor protection and mobility, light weight, simple structure, reliable operation, and easy use and maintenance. The Type 59 medium tank is the first domestically produced main battle tank equipped by China. This tank was first deployed to the Chinese military in 1959 and was the main equipment of the Chinese armored forces until the 1980s. China has produced over 10000 Type 59 tanks, with the vast majority produced by Baotou 617 Factory. Another tank production base in China, Luoyang Tractor Factory, has produced 500 Type 59 tanks
