[B42]Clean HotBar v1.8

Description
If this Mod not show on Mod list,99% your game is run on Build 41 ,this mod only work for Build 42

V1.8 Update
+ Fixed a bug where hiding empty slots caused incorrect mouse position detection
+ Removed some unnecessary animation effects
+ Updated several textures
+ Optimized the code structure, and cleaned up redundant functions.

V1.7 Update

+ Added a feature to show/hide empty slots.
+ Improved the display of the settings button — it now only appears when the mouse hovers over the hotbar.

When playing Project Zomboid, this Hotbar UI has always annoyed me. Unlike most games' UI designs, it fails to intuitively display weapon status and blocks part of the screen visibility. That's why I've been redesigning this UI for a long time. After studying equipment UIs from various games, I've found a more optimal solution.

B42-Compatible Status Display

This mod visually integrates all new weapon/item statuses added in B42:
  • Weapon Head Condition: Displays a status bar above the slot if weapon has head condition data
  • Weapon Sharpness: Similar to head condition but with two values:
    • White: Actual sharpness
    • Brown: Maximum sharpness (see here)
    • Toggleable Items: Clear ON/OFF indicators for items like flashlights
    • Ammo Counter: Displays ammunition count above firearm slots

    Hand-Equipped Display Improvements

Now it's not just the hotbar,hand-equipped can also display more detailed information.
Additionally, the original game’s textures have been optimized with added transparency.

    B42 Liquid System Integration

The new B42 liquid system is visualized with color-coded bars. While I used AI-generated color values (which may have inaccuracies), you can easily identify liquid types. Please provide feedback for any inconsistencies.

    Animation Effects

Designed to minimize distraction while providing durability alerts:
    • Durability Shake: Items shake during durability loss (e.g. flashlight battery drain)
    • Flashing Effect: Durability values flash when decreasing
    • Liquid Drain: Smooth animation mimicking drinking actions
    • A warning appears above the character's head when the durability of the equipped weapon decreases (can be disabled in the settings panel).

    Customizable Settings

    • Disable all status displays for hardcore players
    • Adjust status bar heights to your preference
    • Enable tooltips (default: off) to show item details on hover
    • Scale the size of hotbar
    • Toggle weapon durability warning animation above character.

    Compatibility
    • Compatible with "Reorder the Hotbar" — I’ve also designed a better integration method for it: the button that originally appeared on the hotbar is now moved to the settings panel (for best results, place Clean Hotbar at the bottom of the load order, loading other mods first).
    • There may be conflicts with any mods that display status indicators on the hotbar.
    • If you encounter any errors or the mod doesn't work as expected, try placing Clean Hotbar at the bottom of the mod load order so other mods load first.

    Handheld Equipment Slot
Currently only basic status displays implemented. Open to creative suggestions!

If you enjoy my mod and your circumstances allow, it would be amazing if you could buy me a cup of coffee, but first and foremost, enjoy your game!

Any chance of this getting backported to B41? Would love to use it, but Im waiting until b42 has multiplayer to move on.
Still, either way, thank you for your hard work!

Stopped working for me yesterday in the middle of playing. Along with Rains Axes and Blades and Sledghammer in Tool Shops. Like all at once. I've hit 'v', started new games and nothing. It's at the bottom of my mod load order and everything. I didn't add any mods, it just vanished in the middle of playing.

Hello Rocco, are you planning on adding a feature to customize item order, like in the Reorder The Hotbar mod?

It would be great if you could add this feature and make it toggleable!

Can the animations be turned off entirely? I'm ADHA/ASD and died to the wiggling icon when trying to fight zombies but couldn't stop looking at it each time it moved. I like to play CDDA a lot so can you make a version where those animations are just not there, please? The CDDA gameplay does not have a sandbox option. I miss when people were using Mod Options to put their settings in the main menu for this reason here.

Works with the hotfix mod described below!

Also, it would be great if this had the "reorder the hotbar" mod's ability to rearrange hotbar items.

Otherwise I'm looking forward to seeing all of Rocco's mods getting a patch soon.

Is there a way where I can disable the gun's ammo count?
