E-8A Joint STARS MOD
Mod Number: 3427416233

This kitbash adds the Northrop Grumman E-8A Joint STARS (Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System) to Sea Power.

The E-8 Joint STARS is a Boeing 707 commercial airliner modified as an airborne battle management, command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platform for the US Air Force. Its most prominent external feature is the canoe-shaped radome under the forward fuselage that houses its AN/APY-7 synthetic-aperture air-to-ground surveillance Radar. Two prototypes of the Joint STARS were deployed in 1991 during Operation Desert Storm to locate, classify and track mobile Iraqi ground forces, including tanks and Scud missiles, in support of the F-15Es nighttime deep-strike missions.

Design Notes:

Due to the limitations of a kitbash (using in-game assets only ) there are a few visual glitches:
This mod combines the Boeing 707 mesh with the E-3 textures, as a result there are some black spots on the back of the aircraft where the E-3's radar pylons were located. For the same reason the markings are those of the E-3, thus not 100% accurate for an E-8.

Note: If you publish a scenario using this mod, do not forget to indicate in your description that in order it works the players need to subscribe to this mod first ;).

Important (about mods and mods use):
This mod has been tested and is running perfectly on my computer (i7-11800H @ 2.30 Ghz - 16 GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) with no other mod enabled. However, since they are as many computer configurations than computer users, it's unfortunately impossible to guarantee it will work on yours.
Be aware that by installing mods for Sea Power, you are modifying your game experience from the original intended product which is (at the release date of this mod) still in EARLY ACCESS. Therefore, later game updates/patches may cause this mod to be deprecated. Although it is unlikely, the presence of other enabled mods might cause conflicts, and the more enable mods on your computer, the greater the chance of conflict. So, to sum it up, USE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you wish to clean uninstal this mod make sure to follow these steps: 1) Uncheck this mod in the mod manager. 2) Click on Accept. 3) Unsubscribe. Then make sure the mod's file is no longer in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1286220 folder.

@ Thump66169: Yes, unfortunately Sea Power does not allow texture editing at the moment, so I had to use the E-3's livery instead:steamsad:.

Ex JStar maintainer here. The tail flash should be GA 116th ACW or the original (Before the Gaurd took it over) WR 93rd ACW. JStars was never stationed at Tinker OK.
