Description

This mod disables all diplomatic confederations for factions. Scripted confederations such as defeating fellow Greenskin faction leaders, or technology confederations remain.

Why?

The confederation mechanic is heavily spammed by the AI on higher difficulties, very quickly leading to all of the minor factions being absorbed by their race's major factions. This greatly removes the depth, intrigue, and challenge that makes campaigns so political and challenging. By removing diplomatic confederations and leaving scripted confederations as a compromise, this can preserve the intricate political landscape and ensure every faction retains its unique goals and identity.

Confederations vs Alliances

→ Confederations seem beneficial, but are very detrimental. You and all of the members of the alliance bloc will...
+ Lose +3000 base income of ally (7 allies = +21,000 income per turn)
+ Lose trade benefits of ally
+ Lose all allied troop recruitment
+ Lose all Outposts
+ Lower Threat/Respect rating of outsiders towards Alliance Bloc
+ Lose "Friend of Friend" + relationship bonuses, fragmenting the integrity of the Alliance Bloc
+ Lose potential diplomatic buffer states
+ Lose relation through "Imperium" penalties
+ Lose Vanilla AI cheats/bonuses if not using other mods
+ Game becomes x10 easier fighting 1 big confederated faction vs many small factions who are allied together
+ Political landscape and intrigue is boring/not interesting with only 1 faction per race due to confederation spam
+ Alliance blocs will only expand in one direction without multiple factions having their own motives/goals
+ There won't be enough factions to form "Alliance Blocs" with confederation enabled, often each sub-race only has 1 mega confederated faction in the vanilla game

this mod makes it so they cant use normal diplomatic confederacy. norsca has a way to confederate based on leader kill.

Norsca still starts confederating on turn 10+ (maybe tech working by design), however just wanted to give an fyi that there is a dedicated mod for no norscan confederation.

i have the "all diplomatic options" mod. and i cant play without it. unfortunately that mod overwrites this one. Wish the diplo options were all separated. vassals for all, liberations, and no confederations.
