Introducing Day Number 8, the ’Orion’ - Fuel Hauler

Captain Sully leaned back in his chair, the Orion’s engines humming steadily as he guided the transport through the quiet stretch of space. The journey to Warrick’s station was always long, but it was a familiar routine. He patched into the comms, bringing up Warrick’s frequency.

“Orion to Selero Station M-778. You copy, Warrick?” Sully’s voice crackled over the line.

The response was quick, as usual. “Loud and clear, Sully. How has your flight been?”

Sully grinned. “Nothing too exciting. Just bringing you the fuel for the next shipment. Should be there in a few hours, unless this sector decides to throw another curveball at me. How’s everything on your end?”

Warrick sighed, a hint of frustration seeping through the static. “Everything’s fine, for now. But have you heard about Noel IV? The contract’s been forfeit. Mysterious as hell. One day we’re scheduled for a delivery, and the next - nothing. Like someone pulled the plug.”

Sully furrowed his brow, trying to make sense of it. “That’s strange. Noel IV’s been a solid client for years. No one’s heard anything about a breach, right?”

“Not a word,” Warrick confirmed, his tone laced with suspicion. “No explanation, just... gone. Makes you wonder what’s going on behind the scenes. Selero's not exactly known for transparency when things go sideways.
"
