Please note

As of X Rebirth v3.60 (2015-09-02) this mod is no longer needed according to the changelog[forum.egosoft.com]: "Improved readability of start menu, options menu and sidebar by removing scan lines".
Thanks to @Painless for pointing it out.

Original description

This small mod removes the striped backgrounds ("scan line effect") from the sidebar and main menu making them look cleaner and more readable.

This is especially true when using image post processing that enhances contrast (like X-Rebirth Re-imagined[www.nexusmods.com]) and/or applying oversampling.

Tested with X Rebirth / X Rebirth: The Teladi Outpost V2.51, V3.0, V3.10, V3.20, V3.50, V3.51, V3.52, V3.53.

With the release of version 3.51, this mod is not required.

I dont care if its gold. I just want the useless art that obscures my view on the side removed

@DaMuncha: The Gold UI is awesome indeed and I use it in X3AP too. Unfortunately I don't have the skills to implement something like it in X Rebirth, sorry.

@superlgx: This mod is no longer needed if you have X Rebirth 3.60 or greater. I hope Google Translate didn't fail me and I could answer your question properly ;)

Could you make a mod that removes teh side bar and just leaves the buttons, there was a great mod for X3 that did this called Gold UI, made all UI elements gold but removed the side bar so it didnt obscure your view.
