The Year is 2370.

The two main power blocks of the Cosmic West, the United Systems Alliance and Terran Protectorate, enter a state of tentative détente following decades of distrust and opposition.

As Earth's own biosphere begins bearing the fruits of a century-long revitalization effort, major metropolitan centers from before the collapse begin lighting up once more - an omen to a potentially brighter future, with Earth and its people once again welcome among the stars.

In dire need to disprove its growing reputation as a draconian, isolationist regime, the United Earth Administration begins holding a series of events meant to garner interest and goodwill of its former colonies - chief among many, the resurrection of an ancient open-wheel racing series, whose glitz and glam across the stars have long since been replaced by that of antigrav racing.

This is Golden Lap 2370: Open-Wheel Racing in the Age of Fusion Engines.

Featuring 10 new teams, all-new sponsors and custom vehicle sprites, Golden Lap 2370 is a sci-fi mod for Golden Lap taking place within the Data Sparrow setting, in a tense decade of Earth-Alliance détente mirroring the real 1970s.
