"SECURE" KEYPAD

Kuvaus
A keypad code verification module for a secure facility.
The daily passcode is set using a set of dials. Valid access codes will pulse the authorisation pin, and incorrect codes will pulse an alert pin, allowing you to log fraudulent access attempts.

It's very secure!

Please install one of these on every door to an important location in your facility.

You won't regret it.

You'll never regret installing unaudited security systems in your facility.

Chances of a backdoor? None! Or at least next to none... Right?

I was like, "pffft. Child's play." Then i saw the story caveat. Ok, not quite as simple as it first appeared. I like that I ended up using an instruction that I've largely found useless.

After my first working solution, that performed ok-ish 10/368/27 , I realized that I don't need to check every digit on it's own . So I rebuild my solution and can now confirm, that a single MC6000 solution is possible.

My first spec, this was fun to make!
I wanted to find a nice balance between packaging and coding.
I landed on this layout that has enough room to fit quite a few components, but tight enough to force you to have to be a little creative with placement and wiring.
The four XBus inputs and two simple outputs are begging to be connected to a single MC6000, and I'm still looking for a way to solve it like that, but I don't know it it's possible.

I'm fairly happy with my current solution, it's simple enough that anyone who's made it to the custom specifications objective should be able to get something similar.
